Watch Christopher Eccleston as Lennon last night in a series of films on Fatherhood.
Once it got past the bit explaining who the Beatles were and on to his fractured relationship with his father and his own son it was good.
Eccleston was excellent as the nasty Lennon.
So since we seemed to have not done him before here goes
Top Five Songs of..... John Lennon Solo

I thought this was something to do with Aaron after some over-exuberant celebrations last night. Fab would not have liked that.0

God is a concept,
By which we can measure,
Our pain,
I'll say it again,
God is a concept,
By which we can measure,
Our pain,
I don't believe in magic,
I don't believe in I-ching,
I don't believe in bible,
I don't believe in tarot,
I don't believe in Hitler,
I don't believe in Jesus,
I don't believe in Kennedy,
I don't believe in Buddha,
I don't believe in mantra,
I don't believe in Gita,
I don't believe in yoga,
I don't believe in kings,
I don't believe in Elvis,
I don't believe in Zimmerman,
I don't believe in Beatles,
I just believe in me,
Yoko and me,
And that's reality.
The dream is over,
What can I say?
The dream is over,
Yesterday,
I was dreamweaver,
But now I'm reborn,
I was the walrus,
But now I'm John,
And so dear friends,
You just have to carry on,
The dream is over.0 -
John was one of my heroes, I then read the Albert Goldman biography and thought what a conceited arsehole...... However over the past few years, I have begun to realise that Lennon was really just facing his demons albeit on the public stage of life. In the end he gave the world some wonderful music, and made us think!, think about ourselves and other people. But in the end it is about the music, and although I still struggle with a lot of his musical choices he was trying to do something more than churn out 3 minute pop songs, but at the same time was one of the masters of it!. His music seems to reflect the inward soul searching, whatever you say about John and he had many weaknesses, he was prepared to embrace challenges, and was at times wrecklessly brave and at other times a coward/bully!. I guess deep down he is still one of my hereos.....
1. Imagine

3. Whatever get's you through the night.
4.Happy x mas war is over
