I want to be Floyd the dog

Having a chat over a few beers with a good friend of mine we got onto the subject of life time ambitions. I've been lucky enough to have achieved quote a lot in my short time on this planet but one dream still eludes me: l want to dress up as a giant dog and walk out onto the Valley turf.

A) is there some way I can do this before my time is done?

B) anyone else harbour any similarly bizarre ambitions?

    WTF !
  • Many years ago I got paid (double time too) to dress up as a pink rabbit. Don't ask.

BTW my missus shares your ambition and is often to be found critically analysing the pre match performance of F&H.

A friend of mine son was Floyd about eight years ago and he was a Spurs fan.

Maybe they should have a bid to be Floyd.

My grandad has always wanted to do it, he enquired about it years ago. He asked to do it for one game and was told university students do it for the extra cash so they couldn't let anyone else have a go.

Tbh I think that as cuts are being made right through the club that one of them should be put down to save the expense of paying a layabout student. ;-)
  • TBH I expected this to get sunk straight away and then it popped up on facebook!

Dunno, I guess it would be fun, things have been so desperate and so serious down at the Valley for so long I need to do something a bit light hearted. Maybe we should all have a go.

Incidentally, who is Floyd/Harvey at the moment? I'd do it for free!

I hope the costumes are lighter these days.
When I was at school I had a part time job at Wimpy in Dartford (then changed to Burger King - opposite Midland/Hsbc)and used to dress up as Mr Wimpy for the childrens parties upstairs and the costume weighed a ton and smelled of sweat. The Dartford Wimpy was being refurbished so we were shipped off to work on the Wimpy float in the Lord Mayors Show. It was definitely not much fun wearing that costume on a 2 mile walk through the streets of London on an unseasonably warm November day. Still - could have been worse as others were dressed up as a portion of fries and a milkshake.

Due to cost cutting measures Floyd n Harvey will be looking for new homes next season. The club is open to suggestions as to a more economical replacement, although they did scoff at my suggestion of "sea monkies", you know, these little feckers you try and grow in a jug of water......apparantley it was a problem with a lack of advertising space on them.
  • I think we should have Giant animatronic transformer dog Harvey and cutesy Neko super Japan cat. To attract the kids.

Lambs? You'd like it down here, then.

Well, just like in Wales, nocturnal activites with sheep is quite a popular pastime down here in Cornwall.
Especially if you've already shagged your best mates wife and there's nothing on telly.

Well VFR, you may remember I used to be a JRFC coach (didn't we run a team together, I'm not sure!!) and also that one year at the JR Xmas party they got me to dress up in the Floyd costume. Not something I want to repeat as aI felt a complete prat. It was baking hot even with a small fan in the head to cool down.

Now just how many beers had you had before you decided this was something you wanted to do? Did your Dad have anything to do with it?
