[cite]Posted By: Choice[/cite]Finally some good news get in. If we can get Lee Trundle, Kyel Reid and possibly one more attacking midfielder or striker then theres hope for promotion but at least we have a decent player with a bit of versatility

dont forget a keeper to back Rob

My perfect backup would be Dean Kiely as player coach - then sack Woodman

Re-sign Warner ..........Experienced keeper who'll sit on the bench, perhaps?

    Good move.

Hopefully this will be on the O/S when they take down the Parker signs for Chelsea story.

Good signing, happy about this, enjoyed watching him last season, calm on the ball, good delivery on him too.

can't comment as its not been confirmed on the OS..........

    BUT

if it is true then another quality signing by Parky. You have to admit, some of his signings since last summer (Dailly, Richardson,Docherty) have been inspired.

If only he could spot a decent striker.

Who do you reckon he should sign, Golfie?

Getting a striker is a little harder as to find a goalscorer on a free is not going to be easy.

If only Pardew had found one instead of Varney/McLeod/Gray for millions maybe Parky would have something in the pot to spend.

Parky still hasn't paid a transfer fee has he?

Not on the OS as others have posted.......
Guess we will have to wait and .....eh! wait.....
Probably sorting out which colour he can get his Porche in, or some such essential ' contractual clause' with his agent.
Obviously not possible to post that ' Charlton are in discussions with Jackson'.....only a select few hundred think they know! .....

Must not give credance to rumours must we.....

Very happy with Parkys transfer work so far.

Sim Jackson would be great as well, proven at this level.

Hopefully we can get another season out of Deon Burton too.

    Altogether now:-

'Up the football league we'll go.......

Undisclosed fee on Matt Spring, but I doubt it was much at all.

Is there any truth to the Simeon Jackson rumour, or is it just something that someone on here has speculated would be a good signing?

I don't think there was a rumour, someone on here just said he'd be a good signing. Might have been something on that footballrumours site, but that doesn't count as someone on here could send it in.

Unfortunately, just wishful thinking on our behalf.

Would be an awesome signing though!

Ok fair enough. No doubt he would be a great signing, but I agree with others that I doubt very much we have the funds to buy him. Would love to see Trundle come in, saw him on Sky last night and it appeared that he'd really slimmed down from past seasons.

We'd have to buy S.Jackson, that won't happen.

Simeon Jackson is the most overated player ever to play for ...err Gillingham.

Sorry, dis-agree massively with a few on here would be a poor signing if we did go for him.
  • Is Simeon Jackson that good, did i hear that he only scored 1 away from home last season

Parky confirmed we were interested in simeon jackson in january and we tried to swap him for Dickson and a small fee, but they rejected.

i haven't seen anything to suggested that we are still interested in him. and even if we were; Gillingham wanted £1m for him last season, although they are probably most likely to sell now, i doubt we can affford him.

    anyway...

i hope they gave Johnie J the number 5 shirt.

Ketman - I disagree RE Sim Jackson, in the 3rd Tier he has been great for the Gills, I expect him to go to a Champ team or a league 1 team with a bit more dough than us.

There are far better players out there for £1m.

Johnny Jackson would be a good signing IF it happens.

As for Simeon if the price is right (no more than £500k and even that is arguably too much). Goals will be in short supply so we need to do something.

EDIT: if Simeon is coming to the end of his contract we might get him at a decent price and screw Scally which is always a potential bonus!
