    We could try him as a right sided midfielder if he's that good going forward. Solly as fullback with Semedo as cover if he's not up to it yet.

    Charlton and Brentford both want to sign defender Simon Francis, 25, on a free.

    The right-back still had a year left on his contract when he was released by crisis club Southend.

    I can honestly say I know nothing about this guy other than what has been posted here but surely if there is a straight choice between us and Brentford then it's a no brainer. I know our stock has fallen but how could any player choose Brentford over Charlton.

    If they can guarantee 1st team football then that's probably a consideration

    Good point Swis although I would have thought a player thinking should I go to Charlton to compete for a place against an untried, untested youngster would fancy his chances of getting the nod. At least I hope that. If he is worried then rather he didn't come.
