What you've got to remember is he has come into the side a lot earlier than Lloyd Sam did, and tbh looks more of a threat going forward. Great news!0

Lloyd sam only scored 7 in 133 games for us? Wagstaff could have 7 in just this one season. Great news, Time for him to make that right wing his own.0

I thought he had a very good season. Well worth a two year deal. Needs to work on his strength but not too much because otherwise he'll end up having Micah Richards syndrome. Essex he will improve as he gets older and gains more experience.0

Good news, if he keeps improving as he has done he'll be very useful player for us. As ross said he came into the team much earlier than Sam, he's already got a decent bit of experience at his age. Sam wasn't a regular until 22/23 and that couldn't have helped him develop.
We know he can score goals, I'd love to see him start creating chances. Last season he showed he has something to offer from the bench, hopefully in a years time we'll be talking about how he offers something when starting games.
Does need some competition, even though he doesn't seem the type of player that would become complacent.0 -
well done waggy. this kid will get better and better. but must not get on his back when things are not going for him.0

Good news, plenty of room for improvement but at his age time is on his side. Not ready for regular starts but a good impact sub and clearly rated by the management. Also 2 years is a good sign.0

I think he's ready for first team action now, and worthy of a run, most of his starts last season came out of position on the left, i'm sure this is what he has been harsly (mis)judged on.
His pace and directness has changed alot of games when comin on as a sub, imagine that kinda impact in the first 20 min of a game when we really can take control??? We're constantly told he's one of the fittest members of the squad and would keep going for 90 min, lets start him from the off and support him all the way, he desrves it, if after 10 or so games he's not working and not quite ready then we still have time to get in competition on loan. But the lad has earned this chance0 -

That leaves Wagstaff space to attack, which he is good at with his pace and directness. He's struggled when starting in tight games where that space isn't there, or he's not quite experienced enough to find it. Depending on the Youga and Basey situations Parky might use Jackson on the left with Semedo and Mc Cormack central. Not sure where that leaves our Therry?0 -

I heard the delay was due to his wanting a 1 year, so good deal getting him on a longer contract, even if it cost a few quid0 -

I take that point, but he's also changed games when we've needed to get a win the the opposition are sitting back closing out a win/draw, trying think which games but brighton away springs to mind.
But i do agree sam is the far superior player as it stands, and keeps the ball/finds space very well, but he's not here anymore and we wont get another player of his caliber while in league one, not unless we groom our own, not sayin wagstaff will ever be as technically apt as sam, he's simply not that kind of player0 -
Fair point, did play his part in games he started. Some he did struggle through a bit for me, but he is getting closer.
I've said before, as have others, Wagstaff is more like John Robinson than Lloyd Sam/Jerome Thomas, and that's a good type of player to have.0 -

I like the way Waggy will have the occasional punt form 35 yards. I very promising player, better than Sam was at his age, this is our signing of the season.0
