[cite]Posted By: Henry Irving[/cite]Can leroy or someone tell us how to pronounce his name. I think we will be using it a lot.

it would be perhaps bow-tha as my best example

Apparently, he's used to being called "Bussy".

Even I've probably got a fair chance of pronouncing that right.

Blimey, we're deffo gonna get promoted now .....!!
  • thanks for the updates Henry, sounds promising considering the amount of chopping and changing and that we are probably 6 or 7 short of a competitive squad. Kettering did well in the Conference last season.

[cite]Posted By: Shrew[/cite]Its good that Akpo is finding the net, maybe a good partnership with Bauza will happen.

If Akpo can stay fit for 35 + games next season AND we keep sticking the ball on his bonce inside the box then he'll get at least 10 to 15 goals next season. Two big 'ifs' I know, but whilst he's no silky striker, he is effective if used properly. My biggest concern with him is his injury record, hopefully the summer rest and a proper pre-season will help him in that department.

Mr Irving lost connection and has asked me to post:

Tuna makes it 4-0 from a Reid pass right on full time.

Sounds like a good performance, good to see strikers scoring and wingers creating.

Glad Tuna scored, made a few mistakes when he came on against Welling and seemed to lose a bit of confidence and probably got a bit frustrated.
  • Did we make Kettering wear another kit so we didn't let the away kit out the bag... they normally play in red don't they?

    Thanks for the reports.

It might be Kettering and a friendly but still good to hear we kept a clean sheet and 4 goals. I feel dissy not used to so many goals in our favour.

We've forgotten the important question - which goalkeeper kit did we use, yellow or pink? It's not been said yet which one is the home one.

Sounds like a better team performance, and after 3 games there seems to be an improvement, not only in the goals but the team performance
Thanks for the update guys..... be interesting to read your views on the whole game and individuals/team performance.

These early pre-season games are all about getting the players physically working again - and they are specifically instructed not to overstretch themselves. It's a gentle work-out practice match kick about. The result doesn't matter at all, but nevertheless good to build a winning mentality.

The team had only trained for 5 days before the Wimbledon game, so if they looked rusty and unfit - well, surprise, surprise.
Wimbledon had had an additional week's training under their belt and it showed.

Against Welling, other players played for the first time, and of course with a little more fitness, the team looked much improved.

The team has now trained for 2 weeks, several of the players have 3 games under their belt and perhaps today showed that fitness is fast kicking in.

It's all beginning to take shape!
