Well done again to RM and the Board (with an obvious exception) for once again providing travel for the Blackburn game.

That's some commitment to provide nine planes and 70 coaches. It would be great if we really could take 7,500 and fill the Darwin end.

  • even if we could take half that it would be fantastic, we'd almost have as many fans there as blackburn

our board are unbelievable, great gesture but it's sad we have to do this 'rent a fan stuff' cos our support isn't strong enough to bring the 2-3k most clubs would bring in this situation......
thinking back when we've had great away contingents thru club initiatives have we ever won? port vale, forest, boro, man city no wins there can anyone think of one

We won at Port Vale, Morts.

The point is the board are backing the club.
And a great gesture backing the supporters who are backing the club.

Stay positive. We CAN do this!

Mills got bought down, Super Clive tucked it away as I remember. Mills debut goal was at Crewe I think?

    Nice one, Morts.
And if I score on the 22nd, I'll buy you a drink too.

And Stone - you're right about Danny Mills scoring his debut goal at Crewe. Sorry, mate.

the phrase used was "advanced negotiation"

though if blackburn deny us the equivalent of an FA cup allocation it would only be out of spite - they'll never be anywhere close to capacity
  • Talk was of us getting 7500 although it did go on to say that there would be no trains due to engineering works that day. I expect that will put quite a few off as i don't think many will want to sit on a coach for 5 or so hours. Would the planes be free or subsidised?
I personally will be surprised if we shift 5000. Great gesture by the board though.

villa got given the whole of the bottom tier, at least, at blackburn, so i'm sure if we shift enough rovers will give us the top tier as well

HASN'T BEEN on the web site yet. Programme said they are still in negotiations with Rovers over tickets. I magine they are saying that if we can bring upwards of 5k can Rovers reduce their prices a bit to encourage attendance. Laying on coaches (70) and planes (19?) which have already been booked with Monarch. How much was it to Boro by plane. £50 ??

    DON'T CALL IT OPERATION EWOOD!
  • [cite]Posted By: Curb_It[/cite]would we reallly fill 9 planes?

Possibly as regular train go-ers won't want to sit on a poxy coach all day.
