Outstanding today. Like the lad - his attitude seems good and hope he makes that right back slot his own.

Was poor all pre-season but was fantastic today. He'll have a fight on his hands with Simon Francis though.

Like chalk and cheese Solly and Francis.

Francis is about 8 feet tall for a start.

He was excellent today. MOM for me. Very tenacious, industrious and calm on the ball too. He also won some excellent headers. Well done chris.

I have to say he was immense today, very very sound defensively and when he wanted to looked good going forward, put in some good crosses. Selection headaches, Frazer who?

Did well. Bigger tests to come but probably proved a few fans wrong who had written him off already.

Not knocking, but thought he got a way with it a bit. Just a little too lightweight for my liking at the moment.

Was solid today. Much better than he has been all pre-season.

However, he wasnt tested at all by the winger. I reserve judgement until he has had a run of games. Unfortunately, he wont get them because Francis is clearly Parky's first choice and will be in sooner than later.

People giving him MOM are way off the mark. McCormack for me.

He was tested by their winger two or three occasions. Dealt with him well. I agree that Francis is our first choice RB, so am happy with two decent right backs competing for one spot.
  • take a bow son you were mom today without a doubt

dont listen to afka he just hates the fact you are taller than him

Harsh! You wanna get some sleep you grumpy sod

MOM by a mile for me. If he can keep that up he will be our best right back since Young.

Francis did well enough when he was on but on today's showing Solly's got to be first choice right-back. I was a bit worried by Solly's first 15-20 minutes but once he managed to settle he was our best defender and arguably best player today.
  • Did well once he settled, stormer of a second half, best i've seen him play, big well done to him.

Solly had a great game. He has quite a long throw for a small guy too.

you need to get some sleep mate, it's clearly clouding your judgement, MOM by a mile, and all those knockers last week,
sorry chaps as I said at the time and as Manuel says YOU KNOW NOTHING ;-)

The guy is only 19, he may well grow another inch or two and will, without doubt, bulk out a bit more - especially with some extra gym work.

I remember a season or two ago Parky saying the only reason he was still in League 1 was because of his height... or something along those lines.

Can remember 2 occassions where he fought tooth and nail for the ball and came out on top. Tracked his winger well, watched the ball, not the man, and won, if not all, the majority of his headers. MOM for me, BUT!! Haven't seen Francis before( can;t say I remember him from the Southend game last year), He's the new Hreidarsson!

Wasn't there today but delighted the lad has his own thread. I've loved this guy since I first saw him at a youth game a couple of years ago. The word tenacious was designed for him and I'm really glad he played well today. Hope he's given Parky a selection headache

When he was needed he was there, quite surprised how strong he was to be shaken off the ball

Very good game. Would have kept him RB even when Francis came on.
