i cant remember the last time i had to keep looking at my watch to see how many minutes to go...nothing fancy, we could have charlton life painted on it and instead of an automatic or one with a battery, it could be a wind up...

Agree. Didnt really miss the screen today apart from the fact i had to keep getting my phone out to see how long left etc. Could we just have a count to 45 minutes or something on there?

proper old school with people asking ''how long to go?''

I wonder if it also meant fewer early leavers?

Totally agree, we definately need a clock. When were a goal up late on which will happen regualarly this season it helps to know how long is left.

Programme sales will go up too, couldnt tell who was who quickly enough and no more glancing at the screen to find out.

Not at £5 at time they wont. lets hope this is the last time the club incorporate a handbook in it's programme. I bet the Bournemouth fans were delighted.

Can't we take 2 bits of the screen that still work, and put them in the west stand and the north stand with the time on them?

Don't we need someone to do the necessary research and come up with a business case first though Henry? Then there's the fire certificate, etc.

Couldn't we just get the ball boys to hold up a board counting down the last ten minutes?
    ;o)

Actually, couldn't we just pawn the big screen to get some cash for a clock. Must be able to get something for it.

Didn't Millwall nick it a few years back?

Oh no, silly me, that was all bulls**t and bravado on their part, wasn't it?!

lots of guesses in there and the running costs are more than breams poxy graphics i'm afraid

Email the club and get an actual cost

[cite]Posted By: CafcAndy[/cite]Im sure a sponsor would cover the running costs, because that the only place the money could go if we fully own the big screen...Surely?

Woud be interesting to get a cost, but maybe it's beyond repair.

A whip round for a clock it is then..

I believe we tried to find a sponsor, with no success.

Why would I put a bib on the screen? Bit silly.

Porky Sparrow, why are you on this site on a Sunday evening looking at a discussion about a clock ? Did you misread the title and get excited ?
