Bet that commentator feels like a prune now. Definite penalty.

Yeah, was a penalty all day long.
  • Surprised Elliot went so mental - very dodgy stuff from Llera.

Yeah, he was going away from goal, even if he shot 1st time the angle was really tight. Foolish but not surprising, when the teamsheet was announced, everyone knew Llera was a weaklink at the back.

I think Cureton was looking for it (as the experienced 35 year striker he is) but the ref was given the option by the tackle from defender making a rash tackle.

See those sort of "fouls" given a fair bit...even more so when its the home side with the call in injury time at 0-0.
  • Anybody who thinks that was a dive either has the eyesight of a myopic mole or the intelligence of one. Llera got nowhere near the ball. If Cureton was a Charlton player and he went down under that challenge and the ref didn't give a penalty we'd have been foaming at the mouth. We've had some shit officials this year, no doubt about it, but that was a nailed-on stonewall penalty. Don't think Llera left himself with much choice in making the challenge either - after him and the Doc failed to deal with the initial ball into the box - despite Cureton being the size of a hobbit.
  • Watched it nailed on pen we got what we deserved absolutely eff all
  • Clearly a dive

    Look closely

    Does it matter?

The penalty deprived us of a massive point ... yes, one point ... at the mighty Exeter.

    This squad ain't going up.

  • Miguel get's a little confused without his head gear to keep him safe
  • Looks very suspect i have to say from my view of the incident on tv. didn't go today as helping my g/f move but when i saw the pen conceded on my phone my mind sprang to one person and i wasn't disappointed unfortunately. total liability. can't say i'm surprised.
  • So we can/can't blame the shit ref in the shit league for losing against a shit team
Maybe our players are shit or maybe our shit training and shit management bring out the shit in our shit team
Some can't see from the shit in their eyes

Did I mention our great away support :-)
  • The angle that was shown in the FL show highlights was inconclusive, if Llera's toe nipped the ball away, we have been robbed of a draw, if not, as is probably the case, it is a definite penalty.

Either way, Llera is the weak link in our back four every time he plays, and with performances like this why not give Mambo a chance?

Llera got done from the initial long ball but I'm not sure about the pen.

Llera is so useless though. How many goals/points will he cost us?

Iv watched this now loads of times, freeze frame etc, Llera (plum) doesnt get anywhere near the ball. Whether its a dive or not who knows but if Llera is gonna go and make such a stupid tackle when the player is going away from goal then we cant have any complaints

    Great save by Robbie btw
  • On TV normal speed my first reaction was that he dived. Watched it in slow-mo - Llera nowhere near the ball and looks like he might take his foot. Regardless, what was Llera doing diving in? Stupid challenge.

Thanks for the advice. I DID look closely. Yesterday - on four occasions. He is at least a foot away from the ball. The reason it goes in a different direction to the way your eye 'thinks' it should go is because of Cureton's touch, not Llera's.
  • Definite dive, but from the referee's angle it must have looked like a trip.

However if we'd been a couple of goals up it wouldn't have mattered.

If you know how to play football, that was never a penalty. Cureton was diving before the outstretched leg got anywhere near him. Didn't look like any contact at all. Sorry, ref got it wrong and the commentator got it right on the day.

Agreed, what the hell was Llera doing when the ball was going away from goal...bloke is a f'king liability and is pants anyway!

Mambo was given a chance at Shrewsbury - he made Llera look like Rio Ferdinand. He got done for their first, rather like Llera yesterday & then he scored an own goal.

    Neither are good enough.

I have to say I've watched that numerous times on normal motion and frame by frame and to me it's a definite penalty. Llera takes the man & 100% definitely does not get the ball. I can't understand why people are claimimg a dive.
  • Cureton is going over well before Llera makes minimal contact and also kicked the ball away from him

Llera had a mare in general. Anyone who thinks that wasn't a penalty is deluded. I always look at these things in reverse. Tables turned would I have wanted a penalty ? Damned bloody right I would. Maybe Cureton did dive, or I'd like to say take advantage of the situation, but Llera dived in and didn't make contact with the ball, FACT. So, penalty all day long for me and thought so at the time from down the other end. Is Forch ready to come in next Saturday ? Parky's previous comments say not but who knows.

Please god he is, we could really use him right now.
  • [quote][cite]Posted By: Dave Rudd[/cite]Does it matter?

Yes it does. Our manager looks pretty stupid complaining after the match!
  • ....and Llera should never have played in the first place. Why did we have to risk Dailly in a midweek game in Johnstones Paint Trophy!?

WTF? Damned if you do damned if u dont
  • No point complaining about the award - remember Nicky Forster's "fall" over the MK Dons defender's outstretched leg at MK Dons towards the end of last season? It's what experienced forwards do.

Llera let the initial ball go over his head (obviously got the flight wrong) which is such a school boy error I would of been disappointed with it when I played. He is such a worrying player at times. Dont think the two CBs were great yesterday. First instinct was he dived, but I think Llera did clip him. Who knows?? Away support yesterday was poor, I even got a few daggers at me when trying to start a song! What's wrong with people? I dint travel 5 and a half hours to stand there silent. Sort it out!!!
