(Had a quick search but can't see any mention of this). Andy Holmes who won two Olympic gold medals with Steve Redgrave in the pairs and coxed fours respectively , has died after contracting Weils diseasd. The disease is waterborne and most usually carried by rats. He last rowed in a competition only four weeks ago in East Anglia: he was only 51 years old. Tragic. RIP

  • Very sad. Remember being paronoid I was going to catch it years ago when i was doing labouring on sites and they always told horror stories about it in the inductions.

No worries, doesn't takeaway the sadness of it.

The most technically gifted oarsman I've ever seen, I always name him when fellow rowers discuss who is the best they've watched. RIP.
