Could be bad news about Solly.
If Basey plays, will give him a clap. Decent player, did not really let the side down ever. Saw the Stevenage goals against Barnet, sure it was Basey trying to close down and he looked like he is carrying extra weight again.
He is probably too good for League 2 but could easily be involved in a relegation to the BSP, may find it hard to find another league club straight after that.0 -

Interesting how Parky describes the way things need to happen fast in football ...... once Basey collected his "boats" and went up to Aberrrdinnn, he moved straightaway to sign Fry as replacement.0

So if the Gills offered him a contract, he'd have still signed for Barnet? I'm sure he didn't want to sign for Gills. Who would? But if he or his agent has any brain you maximise your options, and hopefully hold a bit of leverage between clubs.
Darn shame that Basey left IMO, as he's got a great left foot that can reliably assist. Having said that he looked best as a central player, and without adding urgency to his play I'm not sure if he was better than we had. He'll have to add a more competitive nature if he wants to succeed at Barnet. If he does he has the talent to be a champ player, if he doesn't it's all down to footballing character and maybe a bit of bad luck. There's plenty of better players than him who didn't succeed, such as Jamie Stuart who proved he just didn't have the correct attitude.0 -

Personally I though the article showed Parky to be an considerate man, looking out for his players even when they are off.
And a great wheeler dealer to get Fry in at short notice just to reduce the wage bill0 -
i suspect this was a case of Basey trying to leverage a better deal out of Charlton by telling them of the Aberdeen deal - which as I recall was verbally promised by the manager but not followed up on by their board. Unfortunately for him it backfired but I don't blame him for trying. Shame because I really rated him.0

Council estates in Barnet? Yes, probably ... but the majority of gaffs are quite well-to-do.
