  • the more snow the better, will insulate the pitch as long as surrounding area clears then remove snow saturday morning, should stop the frost getting into the ground.

Having serious second thoughts about this. Driving is going to be a total 'mare. Does anyone know if I can return tickets now?

Just spoke to the club. Can return tickets for a full refund up to 48hrs before matchday. Havent spent money on trainfares, cant face the drive in this weather so tickets will be going back.

Think I might buy the City tickets anyway, this game isn't going to happen
  • If pubic transport ok our group has already agreed to go regardless of whether game called off or not - the football always spoils the day anyway. How could we leave all those Rochdale milfs / gilfs deprived?????
  • Just cancelled our hotel booking for Fri & Sat night but if the match goes ahead , I'll travel up with my usual intrepid NWKer companions by road.

According to oohaah, there is a 60% chance this will be called off on Friday, 39% on Saturday, and 1% the game will be played and we will lose.

Taken the punt on the City tickets, so got to collect them from Eastlands on Saturday, if our game somehow survives, the City game is nearly sold out, so they'll be touts to sell to.
  • Sent my tickets back today (to guarantee the refund). We were staying in a mates pub, so no issue with accomodation.
If it improves a lot by Fri, then we will go and pay on the day.

    Yeah it looks fine.

Saturday's forecast says it'll be a tropical 1 degree Celsius. The snow will melt, no problem. Pitch inspection at 2pm, I reckon, with the match going ahead.
