No surprise he has gone, but shocked at the timing. Thought they would give him a little longer after his latest vote of confidence.

No idea where he will end up next.
  • So many management opportunities out there. The football league is vacancy city.
  • So which clubs still have mangers?
  • Errrrrmmm....

Do you mean Magners ...... ?

Did we have Courage Best for the Swindon game?

    barn-sley?
  • Sacked less than a week before a cup semi final, bit odd in the timing i must say.

I assume this means Lee Martin will be going back so the new manager can assess him?

This is bad news for us because any quality manager that might be tempted to join us will surely look to the Championship first, I cannot see someone like Howe or Houghton coming to us when there is a vacancy at a club like Ipswich.

Hughton is the favourite I think.

Sky Sports understand Paul Jewell is going there and seeing as he's a pundit that could be close to the truth.
  • Nailed on dead cert. it's Curbs.
It's probably a shorter journey for him to Ipswich training ground than to Sparrows Lane
And Mrs Curbs doesn't have to move home

Nailed on dead cert Curbs will want the job ...
  • I bet they told Keane he was sacked over the phone!

Jesus, imagine having that conversation with Roy face to face, "The thing is Roy......"

imagine what a roasting he'd give our players at half time..
  • Never understood how Roy Keane got the gig in the first place. Good players do not necessarily make good managers.

Sky reporting Paul Jewell to replace Keane.
  • Hard to imagine many worse man managers than Roy Keane. Great player though.
  • Ipswich on sky sports news shortly
  • If Curbs would go to a lowly Championship club, why not a high League One???!!!

To be fair to Keane hes mangerial career started very well, he won the championship with Sunderland and kept them in the Premiership in the first season. He had poor league form with Ipswich but they somehow managed to get to the league cup semi final.

He won the Championship with Sunderland because he inherited the best squad and was given ten times more money than any other manager in the division.
  • Just read a piece in the Guardian. Keane says 'I genuinely feel I could have turned it around.' Was that six defeats in the last seven games?
