ok so who in your entire history of watching Charlton is IN YOUR OPINION the most unsung player ever to pull on a red shirt?

    From my era I dont think Kish always got the credit he deserved.

    no unsung hero... the player who went about their job effectively however rarely received the credit they deserved

    Kish has to be up there. He regularly featured in the stats for most tackles and most passes and got through a prodigious amount of work, all in the top tier. Our decline seemed to culminate with his no longer being a regular and eventual departure.

    Mark Stuart was always overshadowed by Robert Lee yet as a winger ended up scoring 28 goals in about 110 games some of which were in the top tier (including Old Trafford). Oh for a winger with a 1:4 ratio now!

    Peter Hunt quietly went about his business whilst Hales, Flanagan and Colin Powell received the plaudits.

    Jeff Wood came from non-league following Graham Tutt's tragic injury and gave us a solid few years yet rarely gets a mention.

    Kish for me, always thought he deserved more credit.

    Kish; One of my all time favorites mainly for his workrate and attitude. Not the most technically gifted player but not a game went by that he didn't work his Mickey off.

    Have you all forgotten Simon Webster? When we were scrabbling around with Curbs and Gritt feeling their way at Upton Park Webbo was an outstanding leader who played for us as if it was the greatest thing he could be doing....in addition he ranks as one of the best Captains we have ever had, Kins may have been a better one but not by much...there you go, I sing for Webbo.

    Webbo was immense for us and it's true you don't hear him mentioned much when people look back at the best Charlton players. Grahame Stuart didn't always get the credit he deserved. Mark Bowen was very good for us too in the play-off season.
