england could host the 2010 world cup if south africa cant make venues/infrastructure ready in time.
blatter is reported to favour england over australia as the contingency cover as england has only a 1-2 hour time difference which will have minimal affect on advertising etc.
although this is from the sun it does sound a possibility.
remember when south africa held the rugby world cup, (their national sport that they pump money into as opposed to the considerred 'black' sport of soccer), the final of that tournament had a down pour before the match, their response? not a super sopper or whale (or whatever they call it) it was a couple of dozen women with brooms pushing the water about.
some of the rugby stadiums are gonna be used (i think) but i'm not convinced that the building of new roads/stadiums for football will be ready.
