Dowie usually gets a job after xmas so that may be one coming up.

As for others, Blackburn sacking Big Sam may be up in the top 5.
  • So far Pardew hasn't done than badly at Newcastle...

But, without Carroll and having not signed a replacement that may change, and if Newcastle collapse from here Pardew has his excuse.

    but...

    4. Konchesky to Liverpool as their starting LB.
    5. Gold and Sullivan letting it be known that Avram Grant was about to get sacked and that MON was on his way...then having to announce that after having undermined their manager they had full confidence in him.

If it's just this season, the whole Sheffield Wednesday scenario was very strange. They were broke, but they signed loads of players in the summer, then had two (or was it three?) winding up petitions. The last one was the strangest of them all, after the bank had bailed them out about six weeks earlier. All the while no one seemed able to connect the dots between the wages they were paying and the tax they were not paying. Then they get bought out by Mandaric (with said bank taking a huge cut on their initial investment and the bailout) and sign a whole new starting team in January...

Harsh - a great coach and a lengthy cv with significant experience at international level. He was a woeful manager, but I had high hopes when they appointed him. My mad ones would be:

    Spending £2m on Djimi Traore
    Spending £2m on Amdy Faye
Giving Stan Collymore a job as a Radio Broadcaster
  • No particular order..

    1. Robbie Keane Signing for Liverpool for 20.3m in summer 08 to be sold back in jan 09 at a loss of 8m.

    2. Ghost goal at Watford v Reading

    3. Fulham being awarded a free kick out of thin air in the last minute vs the mighty addicks that lead to the equaliser in Pards 1st game

    4. Graeme Souness signing a nobody called Ali Dia after being fooled into believing he was George Weah's Cousin and playing him without seeing him train.

    5. Notts County Exploits of 2009.

SPECIAL MENTIONS: Sir Bobby Robson signing the wrong black Wimbledon forward (Carl Cort instead of Jason Euell)

Scott Parker leaving Charlton too soon

I know it has been done to death but my take on Les Read is that he never had the support of the dressing room, rather than been a woeful manager.

Newcastle and West Ham over the last few years could have a whole list to themselves.

Keegan leaving and being replaced by Kinnear has to up there.
  • What have most of these got to do with this season?

Number 1 has got to be the goal that never was Watford v Reading last season I think.
  • The 'goal' not give to Frank Lampard V Germany..and the 'goal' not given to Pedro Mendes v Man Utd (one where Carroll spilt the ball)
  • Harald Schumacher's assault on Patrick Battiston at the 1982 World Cup. Deemed not to be even a foul despite Battiston's three front teeth being knocked out and him then slipping into a coma. Schumacher's indignation and annoyance at having to wait to take the goal kick only added to the injustice.

Suarez of Uruguay's hand ball on the line denying Ghana a winner in last years World Cup- and then his celebration when the spot kick was missed.

In the past: a) The F.A's appointment of Don Revie as England manager.

    b) The F.A's failure to appoint Brian Clough as England manager.

This season: The Premiereship's continual refusal to live (and spend) in the real world. How much longer can this house of cards survive?

Well, tonight referee against colchester (by all accounts) may make this list?.....................
  • In no particular order

Sven picking Theo Walcott over the likes of Benty, dispite having seen him play.
    Qatar getting the WC
Gareth Southgate deciding to go for placement in the Germany shoot out
    Hoddle and Waddle's pop career
    Most Newcastle managerial changes
