Fixing The Screen

Now we have new owners, who seem to have a bit of dosh, can we spend a small amount of cash on fixing the screen in the corner of the ground. I'd be happy if we could just see what the time was let alone anything about the score. We hardly look like a promotion aiming team without a clock somewhere in the ground. If the answer is no, then clearly the chairmen don't have the fans interests at heart :P

Take a watch, or a stopwatch with you. More other priorities we have at present imo.0

I agree that for the next couple of weeks the priorities have to be getting the right coaching/management staff in place to support Chris Powell, and getting in whatever players are needed to build a team capable of promotion (a right back and a goal scorer would be my priorities). After that though, I think getting the scoreboard working properly would be an excellent achievement and would be a clear demonstration that we are heading in the right direction. There are few things that are more symbolic of the decline of the club in recent years than the scoreboard. As the bulbs went out one by one so we dropped further down the league until the point where it was turned off completely and we found ourselves in the third division. Far more importantly that just telling the time and the score, getting it working again would be an excellent way of showing that the rot has been stopped and that under the new board we are a club on the up.0

It does not have to be a big screen. A scrolling panel (or 2) as used around pitches at big matches would do.
Pretty much off the shelf system and easy to move when we need to expand the stadium.0 -

I'm not saying that we need the whole screen to be fixed but surely they can afford a clock of some kind? Surely can't cost more than a couple grand.0

Noticed at the Swindon game that a number of floodlight bulbs were out as well.0

Whilst we all agree investment in the team is essential and the primary task of the board this is also a very good point tbf. It would be definite statement of intent that we have (hopefully) turned a corner. Perhaps a cheaper alternative could be found that could finance itself through advertising/sponsorship as others have said as, at the moment, it's just a reminder of how far we've fallen isn't it?0 -
New screen £120k or a decent centre half & centre forward on loan for the rest of the season.
I'll go for keeping The Doc & Akpo & getting a new screen, at least I'll be able to watch the screen instead of having to watch the team struggle.

I bought a watch, with an inbuilt stopwatch. I regretted it 20 minutes into the Plymouth game when people kept "you got the time there, mate". I'm glad it's back.0

I was pleased to see it back. The only niggle is you can't ( or at least I can't)see the clock from the north Stand0 -
Looking good! I couldn't quite read it from the North Upper, but I think the resolution is clearer and there were no sections of it randomly dropping out.0

Firstly, great to see it operational. Its all about perception, and if we are going to have a screen sitting there then it has to be a working one.
From the mid-to-back of the North Upper though, it is unreadble other than the clock (just), or the score. All player names, scores from other games etc are just not big / clear enough to read. As for the player sponsorships, well they might as well not be there. They would be impossible to read if the screen was set, let along when it changes every 1 second when the team is read out !0
