Was very sympathetic in his post match interview. He is an excellent footballer and didn't need to talk about us at all with all the ridculous shite he has recieved from us over the years - but he did and good luck to him.

    I sang 'wanker Jermaine Defoe' when he scored and the Irish band in the bar I was in started playing along!

    He is a wanker. Who cares if he was sympathetic.

    The Guardian:
    Charlton's fate was finally sealed in injury-time courtesy of a wonderful 25-yard strike from Defoe, who afterwards offered words of sympathy to his former club. "I was here as a kid and have lots of friends; I'm sure they will bounce back," he said.
