Last season in the championship or this season. What is worse?

So in our last season in the championship we were completely accepting of the fact we were going to get relegated, and it was a slow and painful time until it was mathmatically impossible to stay up. This season we're in a similar predicament, in that we're convinced we wont even make the play-offs and we're simply seeing the season out.
The end of both seasons have/will-have been very painful and depressing, but what one has been worse for you?

For me this season, as in the space of 7 games we've completely collapsed. I never had my hopes dented at any particular point in the 08/09 season as hope never really existed.

This season because the 08/09 there were no false hopes to it.
This season we had a 5-1 at posh 5 wins in a row, top goal scorer in the league bwp
A new board and a legend put in charge
so many false hopes much worse when your find hope and then getting cut down
  • This season by far! We have players that can play centre back for a start.

Its a no brainer. We were getting beaten by some good sides in the Championship . This year we are making some pub sides look like world beaters.

This, at least we knew whatever happened the spanners would still be below us.

    Just embarrasing now

I think we were worse in the CCC - we had a better team then, but zero team spirit.

This season. Seemed to have ages to get used to relegation in 2009, so much so that by Derby we were having a party despite the fact we were relegated and watching a terrible game of football (or so it seemed at the time!). This time we’ve gone from having a decent shout of automatics to definitely not getting a playoff place in just two months. Very cruel and definitely worse.

Plus in the Championship season you had the whole “at least we’ll win some games and see some new grounds” thing to look forward to.

    08/09.

This lot try but are not good enough. The 08/09 lot were neither good enough nor tried.

Hard to seperate both - Seems that having your hopes dashed is part and parcel of this club whoever is in charge of it.

08/09, no strikers that could score goals, too many attacking midfielders, not enough centre backs etc.

This season we can grind out results if we have to, but understandably Powell probably wants to see who might fit into next seasons team. This team can't play exciting passing football but it can compete and get results playing the way we did under Parky. The 08/09 team struggled to do that.

Harsh to say they didn't try. In the second half we became hard to beat but didn't have enough goalscorers or quality in certain areas.
