Although ppl are quite rightly angry with the situation at the moment, it dawned on me that things were very nearly different.

To be fair to the board, they wanted Howe as first choice. He's quite clearly a good manager, did well and Bournemouth and is now doing well with Burnley. Powell was, at best, second choice and is proving why.

Ppl could argue that Powell shouldn't have even been second choice but that's another argument.

Parky probably did need to go and the board got that right and then tried to bring in the right man to replace him IMO.

    What have sliding doors got to do with anything?

    (And yes, I know it's a film - but there's no tube station at Charlton)

    The concept, not the film. We were close to howe and dont get him.

    He rejected us/we pulled out. And now we're in trouble

    Would Howe have got a different haircut to the one he now has at Burnley, if he had come to us?

    if curbs had signed a new deal and was given the money dowie and pards pissed up the wall would be more apt than howe.
