Having seen the inside of that place already in the flesh i really do think it will be the best place to watch a concert, regardless of who it is.

The intimate small venue where any of the crowd are no more than 40 feet from the act will be special. Think Jools Holland is in that bit first.

Just bought mine, not his greatest fan but the missus is, but it should be a blinder!

I thought they went on sale tomorrow but O2 customers can order them in advance by getting hold of a promo code.

Prince? In all honesty I'd rather fist my own bottom with a studded glove than give any money to that overated little midget.

Cant really see O2 working as a gig venue, could be another Earls Court.

Having said that I will go when they start getting someone half decent there.

The thing is that the o2 arena is purposely built for music (the only one in the UK i think) so it should be excellent. The views from all areas of the place are fantastic (comapred to Wembley Arena) and there is a very intimate feel to the whole thing.

The extras such as cinema, ice rink, Fabric nightclub, restaurants etc make the whole area a great little setting.

    agreed. (unless free!)

the small thing might be appealing.

the thought of seeing someone in an indoor arena doesn't fill me with excitement at all.

wembley arena, earls court, and now probably the 02....not good.

got metallica at wembley stadium to look forward to tho!!

Inside, there is like a "street" which has a lot up "upmarket" type restaurants such as Nandos, Pizza Express etc. This is to get rid of the usual £5 hot dogs that you can sometimes a gigs. Fabric have built a nightclub as well within the dome which will be open all year round (along with the 10 screen cinema).

Huge budget to pull events in with, better set up then Earls Court and Wembley Arena, and AEG have a lot of deals signed to manage tours, so they just put there artist in there venues (the O2, MEN arena etc etc)

Is Pizza Express now considered 'upmarket'?. My local kebab shop should get a Michelin star soon then.

The "street" will also include two venues owned by Frank the Yank.

I think I'll be sticking to the Pilot.

Just got hold of a SECOND set of tickets.

Along with an O2-only text-driven prom code ticketing system (thus precluding anyone not on an O2 contract) this all sounds a bit too closed shop and exclusive. Shame, the O2 is a fantastic venue which should be as accessible as possible...or am i just totally out of touch?

Bit out of touch, as the code for Prince is the same for everyone who asked for it, so it's common knowledge out there.

The pre sale is one of the thing O2 are paying the £25m for the naming rights

    Competition innit MCS.

23 screens within a 1 mile of each other, as for Nando, it might mean the one at Filmworks becomes useable!

O2 sent all its customers the same passcode - 3L1B2Z1 (go to Ticketmaster.co.uk or theo2blueroom.co.uk/prince) - so it wasn't that exclusive...

I'm thinking of getting the missus some tickets for this, the only one's they have left are the £31.50 tickets. Are they still ok seats. I have never been to a concert in my life so would they still get a decent view?
