Time to test your knowledge on the 24 different people who have managed this great football club.

Name the top 3 managers who have the unwanted record of going the most amount of games without a win (League games only)

    Seed went 15 or 16 without a league win near the end of his time

    Parky and Powell both have 10. Pardew 8 Curbs 9.

    we went 10 winless games when Parky took charge (following on from 8 under Pardew)
    we have currently gone 10 games without a win with Powell in charge
    in the first Prem season we went 13 games without a win (Curbs)

    PS Curbs +1 if you count cup games, personally I wouldn't as they are a different kettle of fish

    I seem to remember that Theo Foley also went 10 games without a win in the '71/'72 relegation season. Remember talking about it on the coach to that last disaster at Blackpool.

    Foley went 12 league games without a win straddling the 71/72 & the 72/73 seasons. That run was ended by a win at Rochdale. Firmani went 14 league games without a win in 69/70.

    Pain is more acute when the winless streak is in the equivalent of the lowest division. The worst we had in this division was Alex MacFarland during the 1925-26 season: 8 games, (4 draws, 4 defeats) . With 3 draws and 8 defeats, Powell has given us the most painful series in our history.

    The difference here is that we've now gone 11 games without a win in League 1/Div 3! All the other records were in Prem/Div 1 or Championship/Div 2?!?

    Pain is also acute when the expectations are greater (which definately links in with your divisional theory) - I wonder if the expectations during the 1925-26 season were as high as they are now ?

    Yes but we've now got league 1 players.

    I've only been around since Curbs so cant speak for the other runs but I wouldn't like to say it hurts any more now than it would have then. Yes now its fresh in our minds and its painful but I don't think you can say its worse just because we are in a worse league. If we still had premiership players and didn't win for 11 games in league 1 then yes, that's awful.

    I'm sure I'm in a minority but I don't think you can compare two sets of results (from such different periods) and say 1 is definitely worse than the other.

    The full list of all 24 managers are now on this thread. Best to ignore Messrs Clark, Gore and Peacock as they were Caretaker managers, and had 9, 3 and 1 game in charge resprectively. Also Reed was only in charge for 7 League games.
