Some players can sometimes give the impression of being not very bright.

Which is what part of going out on loan and living away from home is about. Just ask Elliot or Waggy.

Exactly. If I had heard reports of either of them bitching and moaning about not being selected I would have been very disappointed in them and beleived they were damaging the reputation of the club.

If you dont moan that you are not being selected surely thats a bad thing?

    There's moaning and moaning.

The boy is unfortunate in that he is in direct competition with our most prolific goalscorer. Whilst he has shown flashes of being a half decent player he hasn't shown enough to undisputably replace BWP or anybody else. He doesn't yet have the presence to complement BWP as a second striker and he doesn't work as hard as Waggy as a winger which is not his preferred position anyway.

He needs to knuckle down and make an impact off the bench thus forcing himself into Powell's first choice eleven.

    I totally disagree.
There are steps you can take, discussed it with the loanee manager, discuss it with your club manager, discuss it with your agent, freinds, teammates, whatever.Just do not go onto a public forum and bitch to the world at large.
You are a representative of your home club, make them proud of ALL your actions, on and off the pitch. Thisis what will progress your career.

And you are only assuming he hasn't Discussed it with all the people you feel he should. He is not hiding anything saying it on a public forum he is being open and honest. Why are so many people on here bitching about the thoughts of a young lad on twitter, anyone thats read what he's said have done so because they are following him. I'm guessing they are following him because they want to know what he's up to and what he's got to say. Christ dont start moaning when he tells you then, if he wrote nothing he would be pretty crap to follow or maybe he should just write what the CL police think is right. If people dont like what he's tweeting, here's an idea....Dont bloody read it.

And if you don't like what people are writing on here - don't bloody read it. ;-)

If everyone agreed in the world it would be a boring place. Discussing/slagging off/praising what he said is all opinions..

    Offside.

I was disappointed in Eccleston last night, OK he was playing out of position but he did plenty of Ronaldo type showboating but there was no final product - no crosses and no goals, he just seemed to be showing off without producing anything.

    Ha ha, Uncle!

    But you were offside ......!

Never mind. Charlton Life should be beating teams like Exeter City...... and we did.
Shame that some of our midfield kept straying offside.

Oggy he's paid you to say that, I was never offside it was the linesman not being able to keep up with play that was the problem...... but yes despite him working for the other team we still managed a good victory ;-)

The same thing happened when he was on loan at Huddersfield didn't it - bright start and then faded and couldn't get in the team - perhaps suggests that he has some growing up to do?

If you look at his match stats with Liverpool, Huddersfield and Charlton he's only ever been a 'bit' player...

[cite]Posted By: Richard J[/cite]I think Nathan probably was Parky's last suggested signing , which demonstrates IMHO that BWP was not on our radar until Powell came in.

When BWP became available after failing his medical at Reading I suspect it was Powell's influence that encouraged him to sign . I don't think he would have come to play for Parky. If it hadn't been for BWP and his goals I think we would be further down the table .

This meant we had two very similar players and as Oggy says BWP will always get the nod

Parkie had nothing to do with NE39 coming to charlton according to slater, it was Jimminez who brokered the deal. That said now that NE39 is not flavour of the month with the fans Slater may well change the story to it being Parkies fault

This season has gone. Powell is just using players he will or is hoping to use next year.

Feel a bit sorry for NE, he has got some quality but can't see him getting much game time.

Let's just hope the way we have fucked him around doesnt burn any bridges we may have with Liverpool!

If he is not going to get any game time then we should let him go back to Anfield, he won't get game time there, I presume because of the deal but at least he will have mates around and he can train with better quality players.

I suppose he came to us to learn and he will have learnt that football can be a bit unfair at times.

Just, what I was thinking, Redman. This may be contributing to his frustration, as he needs to put himself in the shop window to improve his chances of furthering his career by landing a deal at a decent club. It can't be easy for him.

When he's played he has caused problems and has always found himself in goal scoring situations (he has missed a few sitters)

We could've made more use of him instead of letting him bench warm.

Where would you have played him? We've seen him and BWP can't play together, and he doesn't see himself as a winger.

Would've played him ahead of Waggy, who has been poor for months (although Saturday was his best game in months)

I know he doesn't see himself as a winger but that's the only position he'll ever be any good at with his pace, where has he played for Liverpool??

Play a loanee ahead of a home-grown player? Wouldn't be my first choice.

He has proved himself to be a stubborn and stroopy teenager and I think he should take a bit of responsiblity for what has happened. The fact that Liverpool haven't rushed to take him back says it all if you ask me.

They really need him too. I mean he's loads better than Suarez and Carroll.

He is on a season long loan with us like McCleod was with Millwall, so he cannot play for them at any levels why would they call him back. As for being a stroppy teenager, when? he has tweeted that he would like to play, is that what you are criticizing him for, if so presumably you support Jenkinson, who some have criticised for not wanting to play.

In this season of utter tripe, Ecclestone has been the only player who has consistently apologised to charlton fans, even though he has not been on the pitch long enough to influence things.

Sometimes fans just won't give players for any credit, still while we continue to languish in the third division next season,he'll be in a championship team or if at our level playing for some one and creating and converting chances.

I think he's a great impact winger/striker, once the opposition legs are tiring, stick him on for the last half hour (not 10 or 15) on the right hand side and tell him to run at them. He has shown time and time again he can be very effective in this role.
