Five things or people you like about.....England

As it is nearly St Georges Day.
Personally I think we should have kept St Edmund as our patron saint but there you go : - )
1. The English language - spoken all over the world, happily absorbs words from every other language it meets and dropped all the male/female words nonsense that complicates other languages.
2. All the sports we invented
3. Our tolerance of differences and mistrust of extremists, right, left or otherwise.
4. Our sense of humour especially our ability to laugh at and about ourselves and to use humour to deflect or avoid conflict.
5. Our cities, countryside and coasts. Fantastic variety in such a small part of an Island.

1. Our ability to embrace and tolerate other cultures when we are abroad
2. The way that we have adopted the shaven head, three-quarter length shorts, flip-flops and excessive beer-gut as our National costume. And don't even get me started on the men.
3. The way that we allow people from all nationalities to do the low-paid jobs that we prefer to avoid, and happily exist on benefit instead. England - we give jobs to the World.
4. Our cuisine.
5. Our inner cities, our traffic and our public transport system.0 -
1. Our ability to queue
2. Sense of fair play.
3. Pubs
4. Eccentric climate
5. Four divisions of professional football0 -

Not sure if you have quite entered into the spirit of positive celebration of Englishness that this was intended to be but I did list our humour and ability to laugh at ourselves as one of our qualities. : - )0 -

1. The Language - Spoken by the most diverse amount of people, Chinese may be spoken more, but that because there is more of them, English is spoken everywhere, from Tanzania to Taiwan, Greenland to Greece, Poland to Papa New Guinea
2. The History - Ours is just brilliant, compared to the non-entities of Australia and the US, why do you think we're so chock full of tourists
3. The Land - Such a lot to choose from, beautiful countryside, villages, coast, mountains, lakes, and thriving cities full of culture
4. London - for anyone who doesn't like London, compare it to any other city, and guaranteed you will have to make too many sacrifices in some areas just because the weather/people/air/commute is better)
5. Humour - Again ours is great, the banter, the gentle mental prodding of others, the mockery of all things everywhere, look at the amount of comedy genius that has come out of England compared to everywhere else in the world, we are in a league of our own (Apart from James Corden, the fat twat)0 -
