    1 Our Music: (to name but a few) from The Beatles and David Bowie to The Sex Pistols and The Smiths.
    2 SE15/SE22/SE23 Peckham, Dulwich, Hornimans and Forest Hill. MY neck of the woods and I love it - diverse and very English.
    3 The unpredictable weather and proper seasons: From dark, wet and gloomy wintry evenings to scorching hot summers
    4 Comedy: Blackadder, Only Fools & Horses, Fawlty Towers, Partridge, etc. Mind you, CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM is American and that's my absolute fave!
    5 Food: The Roast Dinner (Crispy Roast Potatos; cor!) and good fish and chips (The Magpie Cafe in Whitby is the best I've tried, to date)

    I think the single greatest thing about the English is that when David Blane encased himself in that box people didn't go and coo at his genius, they went and flicked the Vs at him. They should put an image of the fella who drove golf balls at his cube on the flag and say, there you go, that's how we fking well roll.

    1. The fact that a couple of people on the front page moan about England but then stay living here.

    2. The fact that most people have ignored them.

    3. Our self-effacing humour. Saw that Smithy sketch from Comic Relief again yesterday, very good.
