tough call, Killer is my all time favourite player, Benty is pure class and I wish him well wherever he ends up (except maybe West Ham!!)....however if based on pure finishing ability then Sir Clive pips it for me.0

i've voted for Benty as well, though i feel guilty about not voting for Sir Clive !
I just thought that Bent has done it at the top level, something the other two didn't, and he also has stood out in a period where we have provided very poor service from midfield and wide areas. That season Newton and Robbo were having bliners, can you imagine how many goals Benty would of got with decent wide service ?
Finishing he's level with Sir Clive, but heading, workrate and athleticism take him to a higher level.0 -

Yep - and as we all know, in order to go straight back up we are going to have to have a striker scoring week in week out - and it 's not going to be Frisbie. The midfield will also need to pull its weight on the goal scoring front - which would be quite novel.0 -
If it came to ability then Bent would win hands down, cant really see Killer or Clive turning out for England.
I think this one all depends on age, Killer is a proper Charlton legend for all the goals in the rubbish years, and for having a good beard, liking a pint, and a fight, and still loving Charlton to this day.
However, I didnt really see him so voted for Clive for giving me the most pleasurable afternoon imaginable.
He also scored that hat trick at Wembley :)0 -

Darren Bent.
He did the business at the highest level, and without disrespecting Killer and Super Clive in any way, I'll take real quality over 'cult status' all day long.
Before Bent's arrival I would probably have picked Andy Hunt.0 -

31 goals in 2 seasons in the top flight and one of those seasons a relegation season tells its own story depite the high regard in which I hold the others.
He missed a lot of games through injury too this season so his figures would almost certainly have been even more impressive!
Bent D is the best Charlton striker I've seen since 1963 with the caveat that I was probably too young to fully appreciate Eddie firmani.0 -
Impossible choice. If I take it literally as 'favourite' then it has to be Killer, as he was so much a part of the fabric of the club - a true legend. When it comes to Clive, how can you vote against someone who left us with that memory from Wembley? If it's best rather than favourite, then I think Darren gets it - he has more of an all round game than the other two: his assists can be as awesome as his finishing, he's got the pace and he's still young and learning. If he wants the vote as favourite, though, all he'd need to do is stick around for at least 'one more year'!0

Love Darren though I do and definitely take on board the 'doing it in the top flight' argument I honestly think Mendonca's link up play was better.
A lot of the time it was short side footed passes but they were incisive and split defences.
Bent's pace, finishing and work ethic are superb but personally I don't think his link up play's all that great. (It's not a criticism, all of the positives more than make up for it).0
