Sir Clive never got the chance to prove himself at Prem level due to those injuries.

Seeing as there's no Kim Grant on the list - I'm going for Killer!

[cite]Posted By: PassItToLeaburn[/cite]Love Darren though I do and definitely take on board the 'doing it in the top flight' argument I honestly think Mendonca's link up play was better.

A lot of the time it was short side footed passes but they were incisive and split defences.

Bent's pace, finishing and work ethic are superb but personally I don't think his link up play's all that great. (It's not a criticism, all of the positives more than make up for it).

When Bent does put in an assist, his passing/ crossing is usually pinpoint accurate and perfect weight - he set up Song's header yesterday, and one for ZZ at home recently - it's not a side of his game we see that often as he's usually lone frontman, but in a better team, I think this part of his game could become awesome.

For those who don't remember Eddie Firmani and Stuart Leary were different class in a very different era; Firmani for his first spell at Charlton was the complete forward FACT

Right, great thread, and Benty is an amazing player and i love him so, as was sir clive who i also love, but i have had to go for killer, not having seen him play you may think why??

I'll tell ya, its because he is a proper charlton legend, he had a giant beard, loved a beer, scored bucket loads of goals and he still has Charlton in his blood, still turns up to charity events, like the one at belvederedererererederdderderrere that Walsie organised for that poor lad who only just made it a couple of weeks after the event, and possibly our very own CL charity match! So Killer for me, a proper legend.
