No, not another would you take an ex player back thread, he's now playing in Iceland. He could play in the Europa League 1st qualifying round.

They have a few other English players there as well.

    Iceland? Ex Player? Why don't we re-sign the Hermannator and Rurik Gislason?

    @golfaddick

    I thought that at the time but I hadn't seen McCormack play then.

    Didn't hear too many people complaining when he stuck that winnng penalty in away to Chelsea as cool as you like (the overall slide possibly began from that moment onwards but that's another story).

    Hughes was a neat player who had the knack of scoring goals. Lightweight but with the right blend was very effective in The Championship (for Birmingham) and at his peak, he'd have been far too good for this current Charlton team. His style of play would sit nicely with Powell's vision of how to play but he's probably a bit too old now. I wish him well.

    @golfaddick

    YOU ARE INCORRECT MATE.

    ...............Yet totally against the run of play, it was Charlton who took a 32nd minute
    lead through Bryan Hughes. The former Birmingham midfielder got in behind Fitz
    Hall to move onto Radostin Kishishev's chip forward and steered his shot past
    Gabor Kiraly, appearing to graze the inside of a post as it crept in.

    Even if he did nothing else, he was never a "total waste of space".

    Ah, those were the days ..... Kish splitting the defence, and Hughes reading the situation, timed his run from midfield to get in the box to slot home.

    It wasn't just Fortune who sent the Palace down.
    Thank you Kish and Hughesy!
