What's Hailsham like? (thinking of moving)

Hi,
I'm a dad of 3 children aged 4-9. I'm thinking of moving to Hailsham but I've read some bad comments about it online.
Is it a bad place or is it simply a case of every town having its bad areas?
Also, there is only one senior school there - whats it like?
I'd be really grateful for some advice,
thanks
- Graham

My Mum and Dad are in Wannock, which is near Polegate and they love it. I don't know Hailsham too well but the area is beautiful. Are you choosing Hailsham for a reason or can you live within a 10 mile radius?0

* I can live within about a 10 mile radius, it's about house prices really. There are some houses in Hailsham that would be ideal - as long as the area's okay.
*Thanks for your replies*
