how far we have fallen when you look at the seeded and unseeded teams for the 1st round of the league cup, it sure makes for a depressing read when you see us lined up along side the likes of Cheltenham, Crawley, Hereford and Barnet:

SOUTH

Seeded teams - Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Bristol City, Cardiff, Colchester, Crystal Palace, Exeter, Ipswich, Leyton Orient, Millwall, MK Dons, Peterborough, Portsmouth, Reading, Southampton, Watford, West Ham.

Unseeded teams - Aldershot, Barnet, Bristol Rovers, Charlton, Cheltenham, Crawley/AFC Wimbledon, Dagenham & Redbridge, Gillingham, Hereford, Northampton, Oxford, Plymouth, Southend, Stevenage, Swindon, Torquay, Wycombe, Yeovil.

It's a good thing though and shows how important it has become to fight for every single point all season. Interesting to see West Sham in the mix, even though they are 'seeded'. Hope we draw them

Good point Lincs, I am sure West Ham fans feel the same but at least they are seeded (at the moment). I know Large suggested sinking this but having looked at the thread he posted my point was not to discuss the league Cup it was about the company we find ourselves in.

That unseeded group looks like the Conference South League and to think we are in amoungst teams who were fighting to stay in the football league last season.

Onwards and upwards.................it really needs to happen this season.

It's because it needs to happen this season that I have no interest in anything but the league. We can use Cups to give people a game.

I agree to an extent .. BUT.. a cup run or two would bring in a few much needed quid and would be a morale booster for whoever we have in the red and white shirts next season

Exactly. Sod the cups as we won't win them so lets just focus on the big picture. Although i want us to win the paint-pot as we won't be in it next season so last chance.......................

Oh yes I agree, it indicates that we were amongst the worst southern outfits in Div 1 last season. This is not acceptable. I really hope that n ot too much empahasis is placed on acadamies and associated sexy frippery and that major resources are pumped into strengthening the true essenceof the CLUB ....    the first team

  • We are rubbish at cup competitions, it matters not whether we are seeded or not.
