worth a listen, wonder if we'll get any hints for next targets. think we need to sign a CB or two now and then we'll of made even more progress.

I'd say we need 4 centre backs (could include Dailly and/or Doherty), a left winger, a right winger and a target man (maybe even a 5th striker as well, one with pace). More if players under contract are sold (wouldn't be surprised if Francis and McCormack leave). Will need another left back if Youga doesn't get some sort of new deal.

Pope and Bover haven't been confirmed either.

Powell sounded very much like the man who had picked and signed those players.

6 more would be nice but we shall see.

CP said that most deals at CA and elsewhere will be done "last minute" so hold tight.

Presumably meaning some at least will be loans?
  • 6 more in next few days or 6 more in total?

Next few days he just said. Ball park figure though.

So Alonso is going to be playing the anchor role in midfield? Surely thats the end of Semedo then...

listening to Powell i think he naturally comes across as a bit downbeat (even if he isn't) - i wasn't there but maybe the 'downer' that people seemed to be on after the meeting at Bromley was partly due to this?

Perhaps he's just knackered? A long day, with three signings following several days of negotiations and presumably he's talking to other players, their agents and managers, not to mention Vetere et al. At 7.30 he should be at home with his family instead he's still at work being interviewed live.
