In an interview with Sky Sports Chris Blamed the dismal performances on a Broken toe in which he broke about 3 weeks before he got the job......
The Charlton Supremo stated he could not push off on his right leg due to the injury which in turn stopped him stepping out of the dugout shouting at players like he wanted to. This may explain, a little, his disappointing display during 24 games he took charge for last season .

If only Powell had jumped up onto a table during a press conference to show everyone, he would have got a lot more sympathy.
