Bover might not play, as he says on Twitter that he might have an ankle injury.

Not sure but I've tipped off the old bill of your intentions.

Yep got mine today, seats filling up so get down there before 5pm or offiice hours tomorrow and get your seat reserved.

No probs getting in on day i should think for the terraces (£12) , but get there early on Saturday and use the Welling Bar as last years Charlton Friendly at Welling will probably be playing on the Big Screen in the Bar from 1pm for those trying to beat the Queues, either that or the Welling United Season Review DVD.

I haven't missed this fixture for about 10 or 12 years................

It used to be one of our last pre-season games before the season started but was changed a few years back as the then manager (Dowie ?) felt the opposition wasn't a strong enough test for the final pre-seson fixture.

Also recently it has been an evening game............and usually rains !!!!!!

  • im sure golfaddick that it used to be the pre-season opener for years till it changed when Donut Dowie took charge. Will never forget that game, was awful and an own goal from Simon Walton, Bolanos looked great in that game though.

What's the situation with the train barriers?

Any historians got a complete list of results of the Friendlies at Welling between The Wings and Addicks? and crowds?

I've got some scores and some CAFC scorers but no attendances.

    Welling score listed first

    91/92 - 1-3
92/93 - 1-5 (Nelson, Dyer, Grant, Pitcher, Lee)
    93/94 - 0-6 (Leaburn 2, Newton, Grant, Garland, Linger)
94/95 - 1-3 (Walsh, Leaburn, Browne (not Steve)) - Rutherford? for Welling.
    95/96 - 0-2
    96/97 - 0-5
    97/98 - 1-2
    98/99 - 0-1
    99/00 - 1-2
    00/01 - 0-2 (Kinsella, Stuart)
    01/02 - 1-4 (Svensson 3, Brown)
    02/03 - 1-5 (Debolla 2, Jensen, Konchesky, Bart-Williams) Hogg? for Welling
    03/04 - 1-1 (Euell)
    04/05 - 0-8 (Euell 2, Johansson 2, Stuart, Campbell-Ryce, Long, Sam)
    05/06 - 1-1 (Young)
    06/07 - 1-0 (Walton OG for Welling)
    07/08 - 0-2 (Varney, Dickson)

That takes us up to the time where I stopped caring about football so much.

Remember the 02/03 one of only two Welling games I have been to, Jensens chip was class whilst Debolla also looked good, last I read he was at Sittinbourne FC.

Thats brilliant, luke youngs equaliser was late wasnt it or the wings would have had 2 wins on the trot. There was one other game where welling played all old boys, some well into their 40s  including Andy Townsend and lost 12-1 i think during the season in a benefit game for Mike Rutherford.

So three draws and seventeen wins from 20 games. I am expecting a repeat of 04/05 on Saturday with another brace from Euell.

Is there going to be any commentary on CAFC Player....if so I can do a match thread for those that cant make it?

Sadly no live commentary for the Welling game, they dont have the all important ISDN line we need, will let you know about the Aldershot and Woking games, we think we may be doing commentary from their, just waiting for confirmation.

Would love to, but we have not had the time to set this up, any comms have to go through Players network, and they are only set up for ISDN I believe
