Not really surprised that he's surplus to requirements now but if he goes then I wish him well. Can't see a fee with this one and I reckon he will have to take a cut in salary so far from certain.

    With you on that, SHG.

I don't know why you are all so negative about him. He was played out of position for most of the games that he played last season FFS. Thought he was a decent player when played in the middle.

Nice try Joe, if he had played in every position he would have been shit, why? Because he is shit, he should be prosecuted under the trade descriptions act for impersonating a footballer!

If any Daggers fans are reading this...McCormack, what a great player, I am sending back my season ticket after hearing this terrible news, first Semedo and now McOxo.....sack the board....

Hopefully it actually happens, doesn't even say they've made a bid yet.

Started ok, 2 wins, 1 goal and both games we went down to 10 men. Rarely saw him play with any confidence since, was scared of making mistakes.

About four years ago he was an important player for Southend around the top of League 1/bottom of the Championship. Had a bad injury but must be more to it than that.

Will do well if he ever plays regularly in this league again.

    For any Daggers fans:

Another blow after the loss of Semedo, an intelligent football who always gives his 100% big BIG loss if he went. Great signing for you boys would seek to push this one through if I were you.

  • Agreed. Surprised it's the Daggers though as i heard Peterborough & Leicester were interested.

Get it done sharpish boys, that's my advice.
  • Gutted. Totally gutted.

The most underrated player to pull on the shirt in the last few years. Hard working, tenacious, tough in the tackle, never hid, always involved.

    Gutted.

A real coup for Daggers, snatching him from under the noses of Barcelona.

Not much of a football fan then Joe? Go to a few matches, you'll start to enjoy it when you 'get' the game a bit better.

I saw him do one good thing last season - and that was in the first home game where he made an excellent tackle. One tackle. One game. The bloke is pony - even at this level.

Im sure this has been asked a million times, so I apologise...... why 'McOxo' - Read it a lot, and never understood............
Because when he was tweeting regularly he once tweeted that he and his wife were out to dinner to celebrate something or other at the OXO tower restaurant in London (would have been quite pricey) and some people on here to exception to that - hence the derogatory McOxo.

To be fair it was straight after the 4-2 home defeat to Swindon, his manager had been sacked Nd he was big gin it up about how good the Chablis was when we were all down the pub drowning our sorrows and in despair. He can do what he wants but it was crass to be bragging to all and sundry especially at such a time.

Leroy- football is about opinions you burke. No need to get personal because my opinion differs to yours. How long can this thread go without mentioning the Oxo Tower? He is a top bloke in person.

The best performance I saw from him is when he was playing out of position

Think you are in a minority of one. Opinion is always divided on players but when it comes to McOxo the vast majority agree he is shit.

If he's such a top bloke why does he sound like such a twat? Calling Klitschko a Russian prick for example on a social networking site
  • Looked OK in the first couple of games then in the Notts County game he bottled out of a couple of straightforward centre mid challenges and was taken off at half time - didn't start in the League again under Parky until that Swindon match and even he admitted he hadn't played well since joining Charlton.
Peacock and then Powell gave him a run in the team and he looked like a player who was scared of the ball - avoided going in for tackles and off loaded the ball backwards or sideways as soon as he got it - if he ever found himself in an advanced position would pass back rather than shoot.
He had ample time to prove himself (18 league starts) but looked to me like a very poor player who was out of his depth - glad he's leaving if this rumour is true - far worse than Francis and Doherty (2 others I'd like to see replaced) as they at least made an effort.

I think most on here are critical of McOxo's (lack of) footballing ability! However the Oxo Tower tweets were insensitive to say the least and McCormack should have realised that!

I'm sure the Archbishop of Canterbury is a top bloke in person, but he aint no midfield dynamo either!

  • Don't like slagging any player off and he seems well liked by his team mates if his Twitter banter with them is anything to go by...

Good bye and good luck if it happens...and you'll have my full support if you stay.

He'll have my full support only if he goes. If he stays he won't play and will just take his wedge every week before leaving on a free, best all round if he goes.

I think at that stage Parkinson was not sacked I think it was the following morning.  Other than that McCormack had taken his wife up the tower (!!!!) to celebrate his first wedding anniversary, which is fair enough.  He then tweeted about the meal and wine.  I believe it was naivety on his part rather than smugness, but either way it did not do him any favours on here amongst the guys who believed he should be keeping a low profile and the girls who thought he should be focusing on his beloved.

Given the financial parameters then operating he was a reasonable signing for Parkinson to make having looked decent at the level in tandem with Bailey not so long before.

However for whatever reason it never really worked and best for him and us if he goes in my view.

What about the thing that he could actually be alright with now with a few decent players around him....i mean for f~*k sake you coulda put Messi or Ronaldo in our team the last few years and they wud look like Sh*t...........!!!
  • Shirking challenges and having no confidence on the ball has nothing to do with the players around you
