I feel sorry for Benno.  Parky got him in and then didn't play to his strengths; it must have been very frustrating for him.  He always seemed to keep plugging away, though and he deserves credit for it.

We now appear to have some quality crossers of the ball at the club.  Hopefully that will signal a change in his fortunes as he is the sort of player that postions himself very well and will attack crosses.

Now that him and Green are reunited, it could be goal-tastic for him once again.  I hope so.....good luck Benno.

  • I think Benno could be this season's Steve Jones, to BWP's Mendonca and Hayes' Mark Bright.

Or could be this seasons Dickie Plumb to BWP's Ray Treacy and Hayes' Gordon Riddick ;-)

I have a good feeling about Benno. More than i do about Hayes.

He slid into the flag post at such a speed it almost snapped it off

Off topic but we were robbed of victory that day by some shocking decisions. Still, Bartlett put that right some years later.

Ever since we hit League 1 it's always a gamble getting players' names
on your shirt as they tend not to stick around too long. Especially when
you're in the financial situation we were. I'm delighted I decided not
to get Semedo 6 on mine now

I know a mate of Benson.

He is seriously absolutely delighted to be playing for us.

Not in the way any of us would be but not far short.  Peak of his career.

Leave him alone, I like him.

  • you watch Benno bang in 15+ goals next year. He will thrive of the service in which greeny, stephans and jackson feed to him. GORN BENNO PROVE THE CRITICS WRONG!

To be honest mate, i think most of us also like him. He's a tryer. His style maybe doesn't meet everyone's approval, and to be fair (at no fault of his own) it didn't suit us last season.

This season however, We are going to be playing a completely different way that will suit his game better. I've got a feeling that he probably won't start as 1st choice but things change quickly.

benno to be our  top scorer next season, got a horrible feeling BWP had a fluke season last year, hope im wrong
  • Bad presence in the dressing room. If he ate some pies Elliot wouldnt keep shovelling them down...

In all seriousness I think he's a great player. Works hard and has an intelligence about him you don't really get at this level. He's even got a Semedo about him with his fondness for early showers. What's not to love?
