Darlington V Newcastle Pre Season (Not So) Friendly

Was all going quite well until the 55th minute when 500 Newcastle fans ran on the pitch. Some Darlington fans managed to get in the Newcastle end during the commotion. Fighting on the terraces. Game abandoned. Pardew and the other fella convince ref to carry on and then go to calm down the fans. Disabled area also rumored to have been attacked by the geordie masses

    Darlo forum says the same thing happened in 2009. Apparently 6000 geordies turned up.

    Apparently, throughout the match they were singing "Is Sammy scores, we're on the pitch!", in reference to Sammy Ameobi. Guess what happened! All started as a bit of fun, but clearly went wrong.

    I spent 6 yrs of the last decade living just outside Darlo. It's a friggin dump where most of the yoof aspire to become "gypsies".
