Which manager has managed most clubs in the Premiership?

I was thinking about this today when I saw Roy Hodgson being interviewed, off the top of my head I think he might be the joint-leader in this catgeory having managed Blackburn, Fulham, Liverpool and WBA in the Premiership as a full-time (not caretaker) role.

The other manager with four Premiership clubs is 'Arry Redknapp who has managed West Ham, Saints, Pompey and Spurs.

You cannot count Pardew as having managed four teams in the Premiership, he has only three: West Ham, Charlton and Newcastle - he never managed Reading in the Premiership.

Any other takers? Remember, the candidates must have managed the team in the Premiership.

Bexley Dan must be in with a shout. Not fronting the deal, obviously, but doing all the real work and managing behind the scenes.

    Nice try!

Did he manage Fulham in the Premiership? I am not sure he did, didn't he leave for the England job and Coleman took them up?

If you're talking top flight - not just Prem - then Jim Smith has managed 5 or 6 clubs I think.

Just Premiership or else it would get too time consuming checking the history books.

    Oooohhh, that's a sneaky one!

I will give you Chelsea, Tottenham and Saints but I can't give you Swindon.

He got them to the PL in May 1993 via the Play Offs but then immediately left there for Chelsea so did not manage them in the Premiership, that task was performed without distinction by John Gorman.

So, that's three clubs for Bruce and I have just realised that Mark Hughes also has three teams with Blackburn, Man City and Fulham.

    Big Ron?
  • I thought Hoddle ditched Swindon as soon as they got promoted for Chelsea, leaving his mate Gorman to steer them straight back down again. Class.

Are we talking just Premiership or including the old 1st division?

If including the old 1st division, what about Terry Venables?

Palace, QPR, Spurs, 'Boro, Leeds Utd..

Just Premiership or we could be here forever!

Anyway, I don't think I can give you Boro seeing as Venables came in as a "Consultant" to Robson.
