Apologies if this has been mentioned before but did he sign the contract that was offered?

Sorry, I meant still on Charltons books. I'd heard Arsenal and Spurs were interested.

Presumably Brighton will snap him up at the end of April 2012 - watch that space!

Not really, it shows that his Dad realises how critical he is and how damanging that would be to his son.

Yes he is, who knows what will happen to him, but I would like to think that his old man would give him some sane advice, that is to stay local. learn your trade, get some professional football under your belt and then move on.

Another piece of good news - I love it when a plan comes together!
  • Good reflection on the club if Poyet Senior has encouraged/ advised him to put pen to paper for us.

I think this point is very important. Isn't Gus supposedly quite close to JIminez ? Perhaps he knows we are in good hands and going places. Or is that just my wishful thinking ? In any case it's great news.

    They are neighbours...

If Diego has any sense and he'll have been well advised by his father he'll stay at Charlton for another couple of years at least and get some first team experience under his belt before looking to move on. Despite the last few years we have a good track record at developing talented kids and giving them experience.

  • The good news keeps a-comin' !

Will sign on his 17th birthday as Shelvey and Cousins did.
