[cite]Posted By: AFKA Bartram[/cite]oh, and whoever the guy was who said to me 'this has been better than my wedding day', apologise for disagreeing with you, but i was standing next to my wife at the time !!

    Wise decision, AFKA.

A big thankyou, mate - and to everybody else who played their part.
Yesterday was a huge day in my life and a dream fulfilled.

And I'll say it again - it WAS better than my wedding day.....but then I'm not married anymore. ;-)

Just echo what everyone else has said. Only downside was having to leave early and miss the drinking/socialising.

It would have been great had it just been a fun day but that so much money was raised as well is fantastic.

Danny will get, and deserve, the most praise but well done to everyone who played a part, big or small.

I hear Wembley might be available this time next year so Danny, I was thinking, do you want to............... :- )

Well done AFKA and the team. Just wished I was able to be there but my thoughts were with you all during the day and as my flight circled 3 times over the valley around 21:45 before heading to Heathrow. It just makes me feel so proud to follow Charlton with all this fantastic effort for such a good cause. Big up for Charltonlife posters too.

I agree with all the sentiments on this thread. Well done to all those involved. My blisters are leaking and my hamstrings feel like they have been beaten repeatedly by sledgehammer wielding pixies but it was a fantastic experience.

Well done AFKA and everybody else. I would have loved to have been there. This was a special event raised by special fans of a special club. The amount of money raised is stunning.

    Smudge

You are imortalised in the Killer Clan household! Without you I could not have witnessed my brother fulfill a lifetime's dream, not witnessed the biggest smile I've seen on my brother's face in many a day and not seen Daddy Killer beam as the tale of that '40 yard screamer' was relayed..............artistic license aside, Dad still managed to crack a joke regarding the impending increase in KB's bonce ;-)

It was good to see those I love smile.......................cheers AFKA, I owe you a beer or three at the very least!

Now all I have to do is persuade hubby to put that fine shirt up on the wall ;-)

Tell him if he agrees to putting the shirt up you'll give £50 to Demelza - you know it makes sense!! ;o)

I rolled up far too late, but what I saw was something for everyone involved to be proud of. I'm sure AFKA will need a small holiday to ease himself out of the stresses of organising everything, but in the meantime he richly deserves all the thanks he gets.

And to raise that amount of money is awesome - congratulations everybody. It's brilliant in so many ways.

    I think charltonlife.com has arrived!
