I'm sure your right Rothko, but what if you don't watch t.v.? What is the best ad on the wireless?

Absolutely fucking breathtaking that ad - possibly the most beautiful use of the English language ever committed to paper, set perfectly to film and music.

The only thing that could have made it better would have been making it twice as long, finishing with:

"Only you can hear the houses sleeping in the streets in the slow deep salt and silent black, bandaged night"

Burton's voice and the words are terrific. What is the name of the poem? Fails miserably as an ad though, because I could not have even told you what it was for. Car ads are generally awful, the new Skoda one being an exception; and they all blend into one if, like me, you believe that a car is a block of metal that gets you from A to B, and nothing more.

What was the old car ad a few years back where they laid all the parts for the entire car out and they all knocked into each other like a domino effect? That was genius!

Algarve and the other overseas addicks may of seen it, but there is a Snickers advert on the ART channels, that is basically about two firms meeting up in an underground car park for a ruck. Instead of human bodies being used, its all infra-red lighting, and bats, chains etc are used.

Lets just say you won't be seeing it on our screens !

Was going to say the Skoda cake advert. Love that snickers one.

Not a big fan of Dylan Thomas but Burton (if it he) does bring it to life.

    How about some W H Auden http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gmq6mFAEqNQ
