Bits of The (old) Valley

Don't know if this thread has ever been done before but can't search for it - please sink if it has been. Anyway, as a young lad I remember walking out of The Valley for what I thought was the last time all those years ago and people cutting out the turf, and taking other momentos of their time there. I wondered what the most unusual / interesting thing was anyone got from this site....me, I was too young really but went down onto the pitch and cut out a bit of turf which went in the back garden.

I do have a few bits. I have a ground regulations notice which was liberated at the Stoke game. I was down The Valley when the old floodlights had been taken down and ended up with one of the large bulbs. The last bit of The Valley i have is the large Charlton badge which used to be situated on the rook of the old North Stand before being replaced with the new one.0

I used to have a pice of turf in my parent's back garden. I managed to get a sword from the gates and a couple of named badges/seat indicators from underneath the seats in the directors area.0

I had some turf also. Put it in my folks garden. They have since moved to Scotland leaving the turf in Bexley.
So if anybody wants some genuine Valley MK 1 turf, I can supply GPS co-ordinates for a small fee!
I remember a few of us going down to the Valley with a saw late one night with the intention of getting one of the swords on the gates, but they had all gone....

I had a bit of turf, put in the back garden but moved a couple of years ago and had to leave it there because of moving to temporary rental accom before buying again.
