Also a good tip to bring some spare bottle tops as they will presumably remove them from soft drinks bought inside the stadium....

These days bottle tops are designed not to fully come off (to help recycling apparently), so I don't think they can do that trick anymore!

If I end up bringing a few bits with me, I'll use a carrier bag.  Hold the items going in and fold the bag up and put it in your pocket.  Put stuff back in it in your seat 🤷

Yes, you just have to throw the entire bottle now.

One of the simplest ways to help prevent theft - especially from a bloke's front jean pocket - is to wrap a heavy duty rubber band around your wallet (or 'phone?). This creates extra friction in the event of a lifting and makes it more likely that (a) the wallet will not leave the pocket or (b) you will notice the attempted theft.
    this will work also!

Careful putting that in your front pocket though!

My daughter's husband is in the Met Police. He told her that hundreds of people were pick-pocketed today at the Women's Cup Final - phone snatching in particular. It was particularly bad around McDonalds, due to the crowds. She recommended keeping a tight grip on phones when using them (have a friend in front to block snatchers) and having wallets, tickets and so on in a secure pocket.

Also, there was a bag size limit about the size of A4 paper! 297mm (11.7") x 210mm (8.3") x 210mm (8.3"), no folding over allowed. Anything larger was not permitted, the only bag drop was at a hotel that charged £10 and had a 2-hour queue.
Can you ask her husband as they don’t really do anything at all to thieves in this country , if we can dish out our own justice please

This is exceedingly offensive. He has been assaulted several times whilst arresting people, including having his jaw broken. I suggest you stop reading the Daily Mail or the Express and find out the reality of what they have to put up with. Numbers were slashed as part of austerity and he often works several 12-hour shifts on the trot, not seeing his children for a week on occasions. There is now so much paperwork with every arrest that they are stuck in the office when they would rather be out on the streets - defence lawyers will look for any slight gap in their evidence to get a scumbag off the hook. And if they try to arrest someone who is part of a group, phones are immediately stuck in their faces to provoke them. Perhaps you should join and show them how to do it properly, if you are so concerned about it.

It’s not a dig at the coppers , I said about thieves getting let off left right and centre , it was a tongue in cheek comment about the state of the country , he shouldn’t be getting assaulted and jaw broken , but again that’s the fault of the government and courts preventing police any power now

After all the bag fuss, they opened mine full of snacks and food for the boy and waived us through, also took beers to my seat on 3 occasions without anyone saying anything.

They tried to confiscate my flag for being too big and then just let me in with it after 10 or so minutes of waiting around for a tape measure. The searches etc were much stricter than I've seen for England games.
