Although I am a great fan of 'Red Red Robin', I think 'Into The Valley' is one of the most stirring even if its relationship to us is oblque. This video is I think the best intrepration of it - from the film 'Charge of the Light Brigade' (1968). Richard Jobson of The Skids made it clear it was initially based on his version of the famous Tennyson peom about the Battle of Balaclava (1854) but updated to contemporary life. The Light Brigade of the British Cavalry sadly had a 16% death rate as a result of the action but the music is stirring and at least you can see what Richard Jobson was singing about- lots of red with the Cavalry-let's hope our action on Sunday is more succesful and we have fewer casualties
