  • Not been to the new grounds of..

    Coventry
    Swansea
    Oxford
    Stoke
    Hull City

    And not been to Wrexham.

That'll give an indication of when I was last an away regular.

  • Done 15 of the 24, would be 17 if Coventry and Oxford hadn't changed grounds! So its:

    Coventry
    Hull
    Preston
    Oxford
    Sheffield Utd
    Sheffield Weds
    Stoke
    Swansea
    Wrexham

None, except if we draw Barrow, Harrogate or Salford in any of the cups.
Same for me but add in Newport as I was on holiday when we had them the other year. Still annoyed with myself for that.
  • Sad to say I would  have 22 new grounds next season.   😒
  • Amazed how many people mention Norwich, considering how many opportunities there have been and what an easy trip it is. It's also one of my favourite away games due to the decent beers and the number of wins I've seen there.
Love visiting Carrow Road. Good friends who are Norwich fans live near Mildenhall so we always stay with them and make a weekend of it. Seen some great performances there, Hunt’s hat trick in a 4-0 win and a magical Mortimer finish.
Think you're mixing up your big away wins at Norwich.
Andy Hunt's hat-trick was in the 3-0 win, with all the goals being put on a plate for him by Martin Pringle, if I remember correctly.
Superclive scored his hat-trick in the 4-0 win, which convinced me that his purchase was a masterstroke that could take us to promotion to the Premier League and it did.
  • Just Millwall for me, I get too nervous on the day and can't bring myself to go. Hoping to get over that fear this season.

Expect to lose at The Den and every decision to go against us. And when that inevitably happens, you won't be as disappointed. I still can't get over Solly's red card there, not to mention our perfectly good goal at The Valley disallowed for a 'foul' on their keeper.

And then to be kept in afterwards for 45 minutes

The 1 nil away win against Norwich in 2014 is one of my all time faves. Jacko nicking it right at the end with our only shot on goal.
VERY late in the game, and their keeper dived over it if I recall
  • No new grounds, but some great grounds nevertheless. Another trip to the Toolbox and to The Circus too. Am I right in 3 weeks until fixture release date!!

  • Since Bowyer came back leading upto the Shrewsbury play-offs, our away form has been genuinely very good, a change from being considered very poor.
For a lot of supporters there will be new grounds to go to as being out of the Championship for 5 seasons.
Particularly if we can have a reasonable season and not be anchored in the bottom three, I can see us averaging near to 1500.
  • I need Hull, Middlesbrough, Oxford, Stoke and Swansea.
  • All the ones in the middle of the country handy for me. Hull also likely, so Coventry , Derby and Leicester is a yes. Stoke a few hours so possible, but more likely to spend that money going down to the Valley instead.

It would be interesting to know the average for the season just completed, i would guess at just over a 1,000.
Next season with larger away allocations & more local games, i make your prediction about right.

Sheffield likely too. Know city quite well and have been to Bramall Lane  before.

    It's gone mad little legs.
I remember us talking about the last time we were in the championship.
We were saying it would be brilliant if we averaged 1000 that season.
I also remember you only bringing £20 out for the night when we watched Leeds last game of the season.

Our away support exploded at the Portsmouth game leading upto the play-offs.
    We averaged 1412

That'll be the game Rosie nearly spewed up on a pint of badgers vomit.

And you were right with the total, comfortably if I'm not mistaken.
I very well remember your club and going to the bar getting the round in! B)
    See you in March mate.

  • Swansea, Wrexham and Preston for me

    All the nice places then.
  • Need to go to

    Blackburn
    Hull
    Oxford
    Portsmouth
    Preston
    Swansea
    West Brom
    Wrexham

Should keep me busy, also still can't believe I haven't been to Pompey considering how much we've played them in the last 10 years
  • think a lot will be affected by midweek kick offs and early kick offs.
  • Swansea Southampton Coventry and Leicester. Maybe hull and Preston 😁
  • Just Swansea to do for me.

I have to take my motorbike that way for a service this year, so hoping we get them early in the season to avoid two trips there.

Knowing my luck, I won't be able to tie in both together, and we then get them away in the cup and the play-offs.
  • Swansea, Stoke, Preston, Hull and Wrexham. ..very glamorous compared to the last few years ha!
  • No new ticks for me next season.
Only done Hull and Swansea the once, so I might make the extra effort to do those again so I can say I’ve done all Championship grounds at least twice.
