Colin Jerwood (Conflict) RIP

Colin from Conflict has died after a short illness. Front man, singer and driving force of Eltham anarcho-punks Conflict, he was playing from the early 80s until this year.

If like me you spent any time going to gigs at the Cellar Bar in Woolwich or various short lived squats you'd have seen Conflict. Not really my cup of tea but he stayed true to his ideals and put a lot of energy into his performances.

Sad news mate. I know Big John a bit and saw them a few times in my anarcho punk days.

Lived opposite him and his family on Glenesk road growing up. Really nice man. No age at 63.

He and his family bought a dog home in 2004, I believe it was a rescue, anyway turned out it was pregnant and a few months later had 8 puppies, it was June by then so all the pups were named after England players (becks they later found out was a girl so changed to Posh) my parents and my younger brother went over for a look…we returned with our dog Owen who was the family pet for some 15 years, regularly saw Colin walking Rooney and Little Nev around the park. Happy days.

He was also involved in running the cafe at Eltham park south for some years, before I think he moved away from Eltham park.

I was really surprised when my dad had told me he was a punk rocker as seemed like such a nice guy (obviously when I was 9 I naively thought being in a heavy punk band meant you were crazy!) I think they were pretty well followed in Germany too.

    Rest in peace Colin.
