A request for assistance - portable power saw

I need to chop up a couple of large wooden structures so I can take the wood to the dump.  I can do it by hand but it will take ages so I'm wondering if anybody within easy travelling distance of SE26 has a circular saw or similar I can borrow?

I am sorry I can't help, but have you tried the Library of Things?  https://www.libraryofthings.co.uk/crystalpalace

Too far away to bring it to you I'm afraid but I'd say for demolition-style work, a reciprocating saw would be the better option. (You can get a cheapo one from Screwfix for £35.)  Certainly better than doing it with a hand saw.

What a great site. Have waited many years for something like this. 2 or 3 person tent on the Woolwich site for £6 a day. Cheaper living at last.

I’d second this. A reciprocating saw is your best option and relatively cheap.

The OP states he wants to chop up a couple of large wooden structures, he does not mention he has to release them from brickwork etc

This being the case he needs a circular saw or a jigsaw, he does not want a reciprocation saw

Yes. A length of wood with substantial girth. Hence not sure a circular saw would reach all the way round.

If you’re chopping it up to dump it doesn’t matter what size the blade is, just do multiple rough cuts on all four sides until you get through it
