  • Libertines just starting on Pyramid.

Katy J Pearson on the park will be great too

John Fogerty's set was decent yesterday. Basically a CCR medley and he still sounds good even at 80
    I can't believe he's 80. Looked more like late 60's.
  • Shaboozey gets my vote over the Libertine’s. He’s very very happy to be on stage.

Noah Kahan and Shaboozey . Me music taste has gotten very bland in my older years..

Loves it doesn’t he, said he was gonna move here earlier…

  • Libertines have really tightened things up. Every time I’ve watched them on tv before they sound an absolute mess but this comes across pretty well. Amazing what swapping heroin for cheese will do to you.

He was very happy. I Loved that whole set. They all had smiles on their faces from the start to finish.
  • Nice to see CMAT having a great time in the crowd for Katy J Pearson
  • For those not interested to see old Rodney, Turnstile are excellent on the other stage.

    I don’t think I know a single Neil Young song - I am 54 for reference
I'm 20 years younger than you and I know loads of songs by him.
He is someone I have heard of for last 35 years but no idea what he sings.

    What is his biggest hit?
will give it a listen to see if he is one of those artists you don’t know, but know their songs
    Harvest Moon
    Rocking in the freeworld
    Old man

    Southern man
    Philadelphia
    After the gold rush
Like a hurricane is a great song by Neil Young.

He sounded like his teeth didn't fit properly and someone had kicked him in the balls.
But as you say he's 80 so fair play.
  • Couldnt get into neil young.

    Doijee was unreal performance though.

Watched kneecap, music was quite good tbf, but couldn't get into the anti-britishness unfortunately, they nearly but didn’t quite get the same hype from the crowd as Soft Play/slaves did.

    Libertines are smashing rn
  • Just watched Neil Young … brilliant set … so many classics
  • Watching Libertines later … can’t wait
  • Watched Pulp and Ezra back to back. Two great acts. Anyone in the crowd that got from the pyramid to the other stage in time has made me very jealous.

Tempted to dust off the tent next year.
    Good luck with that  ;)

  • The Libertines were pretty good.
I've seen them better and worse.

I’m only halfway through but think they’ve been great so far, hard to remember they’re approaching 50 too

Yes the voice has faltered, but he otherwise looked in great nick for an 80 year old.

Meanwhile on @shirty5 recco I am currently hugely enjoying Shed Seven, whom I must have last given a thought to around 1997.
  • You can always rely on Rod Stewart to put some eye candy up on stage, which may or may not be to avoid people thinking about his voice. Bless him.

I think, like retirement, there should be an age limit to performing. McCartney; Stewart, Daltrey & Jagger are all now in their 80's (or close to it). Their voices have gone. Time to stop touring & performing. Let's remember them in their heyday.
  • Still an absolute showman though, is Sir Rod!
  • Ain't it great to see so many making live music?
    Tight and well rehearsed.
I saw the Faces years ago at the Crystal Palace bowl, this is providing a nice amount of nostalgia.
    Go for it Rod.

I thought Rid Stewart was going to be live on the Beeb ?

Currently on BBC2 they have some woman playing.....

    Edit.

Ok. Found it on the red button. Very confusing. Why highlight him as one of the main events but then not show him live from the start of his set.

A but like having the FA Cup on the red button but on the main channel having an U21's game.
