I must be honest, I'm over the moon if we can get M G-W over the line. I watched his debut for Wolves against Spurs. He came on at HT and he absolutely ran the show. Have followed his career closely since. I wrote down a wish list at the end of last season and he was on it, along with Kudus who I wanted when he was Ajax and was gutted he went to West Ham.
Just need a bonified no.6 likr Douglas Luiz or Adam Wharton then things are looking up, unless he intends to play a double pivot with Bentancur and Bissouma.
Dare I say it though, wouldnt be at all surprised to see Romero sold to pay for one or the signings. We'll just have to wait and see I guess!
Well this post aged well. I didn't enjoy watching the M G-W Hostage Video with Marinakis standing by his side.
Only Levy could trigger a release clause and STILL fuck a transfer up. Its almost as if I can imagine him rubbing his hands together thinking, oooh if I tell Marinakis I know about the release clause, he'll throw his toys out the pram, the transfer won't go through and I wont have to spend the best part of £130m in 24hrs. Call my cynical...
Spent 300m already and sold players for just over 100m, so another 110m on top, how are they affording it?
Because the spend gets spread out across the contract for accounting reasons and the spend doesn't. Plus they had a fairly small spend over the last few years, only permanent signing made last season was Chiesa for less than £20m. Wouldn't expect them to keep spending like this beyond this window/season
He wasn’t great for them last year so on the pitch won’t be a massive loss but he’s a real talisman for them and must be good in the dressing room. Plus he’s a massive commercial/sponsorship draw

This summer they've sold 115m of players and will likely sell Nunez and Elliott as well, so that should bring in another 80m at least.
They didn't spend much last summer and i suspect they won't need to spend much next summer either. So it would basically be a 450m spend but over 3 summers.
10 years, 454 games, 173 goals, 101 assists, 1 Europa League trophy. Screamers with both feet. End of an era, proper PL legend. Out on his terms, good luck Sonny!
But lets be honest, his form has been on the slide for the last 2 seasons, arguably 2.5 so its absolutely no surprise.
(Wonder if all the South Korean supporters that have flocked to WHL will stick about now?)
I thought Son was going on a free - £20m apparently! Good business by Spurs.
I see Maddison went off injured in the last friendly, no one around him when he went down, didn't look good. Felt.sorry for thim after he's just come back.

Suspected ACL from the reports. With Kulusevski out until Christmas, we now desperately need a no.10 as we've got zero creativity in the squad.

Personally i think Spurs should go for Grealish. Could probably get him on loan for a year with a fairly low fee clause for next summer, as he will then only have 1 year left on his contract.
Play him in a free role like he had at Villa and i think he'd be great for Spurs. Also means Levy doesn't have to spend on a transfer fee this summer and i think the fans would all be pleased at the signing so a win-win all round.

I'd take him in a heartbeat tbh. We need proven PL players with significant experience. Not time to throw yet another youngster into the team.

Made for an interesting watch.
