The whole concept of moving games for Sky Sports +, that are played at the same time as a "proper" Sky game, is a nonsense.
On this Saturday you have the main Sky match (WBA vs Ipswich) which is clearly the EFL fixture Sky think is a main one they think their viewers will want to watch, but then you shift 6 additional games as well. All of which will get minimal numbers of viewers, but cause massive disruption to the away fans.

Also the Sky Sports Football matches are shown internationally but not the Sky Sports + ones.0

Charlton's home clash with Ipswich Town at The Valley on Wednesday, April 22nd will be shown live on Sky Sports Football with the kick-off time remaining at 7.45pm.

If we are mathematically safe by then, then yes....most definitely.Bedsaddick said:

I’m with you but it will be a slight silver lining if we do lose.LargeAddick said:

If we're safe and Ipswich need the points, I'd play all the bit part players and youngsters.
Weirdly worked against Boro, but happy if lightning doesn't strike twice

I seem to have cocked up my travel arrangements, which were based on me apparently seeing the Ipswich game as being scheduled for Tuesday 21st. It seems this is my fault, not Sky's, but I'm puzzled how I cocked this up as it's part of a complicated itinerary and I recall checking it a couple of times. This was all done in mid Feb. I'm stuffed now, but I'm curious, did I just have a senior moment or was this game ever scheduled for the Tuesday?0

I've heard if we're safe, then TC is down to go in goal, Kelman at CB and Floyd and Harvey occupying the wing back berthssam3110 said:If we're safe and Ipswich need the points, I'd play all the bit part players and youngsters.

Can you tell me what side Floyd and Harvey will be playing?0

I, for one, am more interested in the future of Charlton Athletic .. I don't give a f*** if Millwall get promoted, relegated, win the FA Cup or go out of businessBedsaddick said:

Add the Ipswich, Hull and Swansea games onto to that and that makes 16 times* on Sky Sports this season.Add the 3 cup game** that is 19 times.Definitely got their money out of it.*- not sure if they are included in the figures**- Chelsea was on TNT sport, 20 times if you include the Liverpool W TNT Sport game1 -
imagine if spurs went down. They would have nearly 30 of their games on live..1
-
surprised how little millwall have been on as they have been up there for a while now..0

It's all about putting less fans in stadiums and more watching on TV. The clubs agreed the TV package as it's guaranteed income, but over time more and more people will stay in and watch it than actually go, which plays into Sky's hands.killerandflash said:The whole concept of moving games for Sky Sports +, that are played at the same time as a "proper" Sky game, is a nonsense.

Whilst agreeing with J Block the atmosphere in grounds made by supporters surely is needed ?3

I’d love to see the viewing figures they get for these games on Sky+/red button, but I doubt they’ll publish them other than perhaps the main games. I suspect there will be an awful lot in the hundreds or very low thousands watching.J BLOCK said:

EDIT: Found this note in a search on viewing figures. Probably confirms that they’re too embarrassed to release the actual figures.Industry Measurement: While BARB (Broadcasters' Audience Research Board) provides data, and some data is sent to clubs, specific granular data for every single "plus" stream is generally treated as proprietary information and not intended for public consumption.0 -
Given even big PL games won't hit a million it must be minuscule. They don't care about that though. It's all a marketing tool so they can say they have X amount of live gamesTelMc32 said:

First batch announced July 2, second batch July 31. Why? Why not announce them all on July 2nd? The fixtures are all out and set, so we know who is playing who and when. No matches have been played by then - no pattern has been set - so they are not waiting to see who is the surprise package doing better than expected, or who is unexpectedly strugging, and maybe bung them on a few more times than they would normally due to increased interest - as will undoubtedly happen when the November 6 selection is revealed.
Also the "selection" for last game of the season... they are all going to be on one way or another aren't they? So all we need to know is the KO time, surely?0 -
This is the same procedure as the current season, the final games of the season will all kick-off at the same time, 2 or 3 games will be shown on the main Sky channels.Algarveaddick said:
